*** This is a repost of last nights pic. Better lighting and camera settings got truer colors and a bit better resolution.
I intended this to be a quick simple pinup piece. That didn't happen, I have problems with simple. It was still quick for me though, under a week from sketch to finish. Shot with camera so lost a lot detail. Will repost when I get a proper scan. She will be in the MFF art show.
Four years younger than her sister Kesharaexa, Natta took after their mother, a Bengal and was quite petite as far as tigers go but also inherited her mothers magic abilities. Kesh on the other hand, outweighed her by almost a hundred pounds, getting that from their father who was of Siberian stock. Their father started training Kesh in the warrior arts almost as soon as she could grip a sword. At nattas birth, her mother sensed instantly that she had magic talent, a very strong one, and likewise started teaching her of the mystic arts as soon as she could speak. By age 14, she was performing magics flawlessly that her mother wouldn't even attempt. At 16, enough money had been saved to send her to a master Enchanter for greater training. Then everything changed with the murder of their parents….
This is truly wonderful work. I really like the details you have brought to your canvas. Your proportion is great. Your color scheme is good and you have an excellent taste for the exotic. Tough I must say that this is good. there is too much empty space in the top left corner if you are going to create in this style add some words or something because this looks kind of like an advertisement maybe for a jungle vacation or a high end hotel. otherwise find a use for the empty space. Other than that this is a great piece.
Well done! This work is excellent. The colour, the depth and texture is PERFECT! I repeat, its PERFECT.
There is only one thing that I believe you could think about for another artwork that will be similar.
Her bust shape and its position is accordance with the combination of human and tiger anatomy. The breast (note this is in my opinion only) may be a bit too triangular, when the shape may tend to have a slight modest but elegant curve to it.
The second part of this, which is more important, is the position. The left breast is protruding from a clean side profile position. However, the Tigress has half of her back facing us, and so, it may have to follow that rotation by being slightly hidden and starting not from the top of her neck, but perhaps a little further down.
What tends to happen with the breast, is that it forms from a curve that starts below the collar bone, and then the bottom tucks under.
I know I sound a little bit like the creep, but the human body in particular is renowned for its elegance with the bust and hip shape. This in general defines physical elegance. When working in art, we try to express this on most occasion.
The stripes are a FANTASTIC indicator of her anatomy. This is proven excellently by the detail and provides anatomic reality.
The texture and selection of colour for the textiles were also well done.
Please. Take my critique as a simple gesture of appreciation and care of your work. Keep up the good work!
